Archaeological work commences at land south of Ipswich Road

Archaeological work has begun on site, as part of Hopkins Homes’ rigorous process to prepare a planning application for high quality new homes and open space that will soon be submitted to Babergh District Council. The work commenced on Monday 27th January 2020 and is expected to last until mid-Februrary.

The trial trenching follow a Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) approved by Suffolk County Council’s archaeological advisors and will be carried out be Archaeology South East in accordance with the standards of the Chartered Institute of Archaeology.
